Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced that 6th Precinct Executive Officer, Lt. Hector Arocho, was released from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center today at 1 p.m. after battling coronavirus for 11 days.
Director Ambrose said Lt. Hector Arocho exited the hospital's main doors on Osborne Terrace with cheers from hospital doctors, nurses, and his Newark Police colleagues.

Newark Police motorcycles and vehicles immediately escorted Lt. Arocho from the hospital to his home.

Lt. Hector Arocho is a 24-year veteran of the Newark Police Division who was admitted to the hospital on May 2nd, Director Ambrose said.
In his current role as Executive Officer of the 6th Precinct, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the precinct.
