Newark Police Issue Warrant for Man Wanted for Theft from Auto

Newark Police officials report that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Keith Tilghman, 37, of Newark, in connection with a theft that occurred on Monday, July 4.

According to police, officers responded to South Orange Avenue and Telford Street on a call of a theft from auto. 

A victim entered a store, leaving their vehicle unlocked, and a male suspect entered the vehicle, stealing a cell phone, bank card, and cash.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Keith Tilghman as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest. 

He is described as 6 feet tall, 160 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.

Newark Police officials urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of Keith Tilghman to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). 

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
