Newark Police are actively investigating a domestic violence incident that led to gunfire in the city's Ironbound section late Sunday night.
According to preliminary information, the incident unfolded at approximately 10:40 p.m. when police received reports of shots fired in the teens block of Oxford Street.
Responding officers discovered shell casings at the scene. However, upon a thorough search of the area, no victims were located.
Police are treating this incident as a domestic violence case involving individuals who are known to each other.
During the altercation, one of the parties involved reportedly brandished a weapon and allegedly discharged the firearm toward the other party.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather further details regarding the incident.
