A set of armed robberies that occurred around the city has police in Newark investigating.
The first incident was reported in the area of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Vanderpool Street shortly before 12:30 a.m., where police were called to the scene after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Units arrived to find male and female victims who reported to them that two to three black male suspects approached, armed with a gun and demanded personal possessions.
The victims reportedly handed over several items before the suspects fled the scene in a dark colored Honda Civic.
The suspects were reportedly accompanied by a dark colored SUV or GMC.
In another reported robbery that occurred in the city, police in the city's West Ward are looking for two black male suspects who were last seen wearing dark clothing when they committed a strong armed robbery in the area of South Orange Avenue and Chelsea Street sometime around 12:40 a.m.
The suspects took personal possessions from the victims before fleeing the scene reports said.
There were no physical injuries reported in either incident.
