Police in Newark’s North Ward are investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting that left a man injured.
Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the incident.
Gunfire erupted around 2:40 p.m. near 65 Stone Street. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his rib and leg.
Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to University Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
As of now, no arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains active.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact Newark Police.
