Newark's Public Safety Director, Fritz Fragé, delivered a somber update today, revealing that at approximately 6:18 p.m., the Newark Police Department responded to a distressing call at an apartment situated in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue.
According to Director Frage, the call reported two unresponsive adult males within the premises, marking the beginning of an investigation.
Tragically, despite the swift response of law enforcement officers and emergency personnel, both victims were pronounced deceased at 6:44 p.m. Director Frage said.
As the investigation unfolds, the incident is preliminarily suspected to be linked to drug overdoses.
The details surrounding this incident remain under investigation, with authorities working diligently to uncover the circumstances that led to this outcome.
