Police took a male into custody and then charged him with possession of a weapon in the city's West Ward Friday night.
During an investigation into a person armed with a weapon, police located the suspect in the 20's block of Chelsea Avenue and attempted to question the male.
The suspect bolted away from officers and then led police on a brief chase through the community, which ended with an arrest without further incident.
Police reportedly confiscated a loaded weapon from the suspect.
The incident remains under investigation.
