Authorities in Newark continue to request the public’s help in locating Mohammed Arif Jafari, 25, of Syracuse, N.Y., who was reported missing on August 16, 2023.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said Jafari, who suffers from intellectual disability, was last seen at approximately 9:30 a.m. leaving the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at 858 Broad Street.
Officials stated he was wearing a green T-shirt and khaki pants with no shoes.
Authorities say he is known to pray a lot.
According to officials, Jafari is described as 5’5” and 145 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a light complexion.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information on Jafari’s whereabouts to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
