Newark Police Continues to Seek Help in Locating Irvington Man Wanted for Questioning

Newark authorities request the public’s help locating Anthony Carter, Jr., 33, of Irvington, who is wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, June 15.AdOfficials stated that at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery call at a residence on Sherman Avenue near Astor Street.

The victim opened his front door to let out a male visitor when two armed males pushed their way into the residence, officials said. 

The suspects went through the victims’ pockets, stealing the first victim’s wallet, containing $400.00 and other personal belongings, officials say. 

According to officials, a third victim inside the residence was also robbed of his wallet and car keys; however, no items were taken from the male visitor who was being let out of the residence.

 

Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspects as Black males wearing all-black clothing and face masks, authorities say. AdOfficials said that both suspects are approximately six ft. tall with slim builds.

They both fled the scene on foot, heading south on Sherman Avenue, officials say. 

Police are seeking Anthony Carter, Jr. for questioning regarding this incident, officials stated.
