Newark Police Arrest Woman who Robbed Man at Gunpoint

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced that after being flagged down, a Community Deployment Team (CDT) arrested a female robber and a trespasser overnight.

According to authorities, while patrolling their foot post, near Brunswick and Astor Streets, a robbery victim flagged down the two CDT officers.

The victim, a 25-year-old male, informed the officers that he saw a member of a group of females that robbed him last night enter a building on Frelinghuysen Avenue authorities said.

The team, Officers Arce and Adams, quickly responded to the building, which was abandoned, and after searching, located the two females inside.

They were then taken into custody without incident authorities said.

Officers also recovered some of the victim’s belonging on the robbery suspect according to police.

According to police, 41-year-old Denizen Delany was charged with robbery.

Police continue to search for the other members of her group. when they located second female, Jennifer Tavares, 28 and charged her with criminal trespass.
