Police in Newark announced the arrest of Rawlston Cuffy, 61, a New York City Corrections Officer from the Bronx, for an aggravated assault that occurred last night.
According to authorities, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers patrolling the area of South 18th Avenue near Winans Avenue were notified by two victims, a male, and female, that during a quarrel with the driver of another vehicle, the driver pointed a handgun at them.
Police stopped the driver of the second vehicle and observed a handgun inside the suspect’s vehicle authorities said.
Police immediately arrested and charged Cuffy Aggravated Assault after recovering a handgun.
These charges are merely accusations.
Cuffy is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
