Authorities in Newark announced the arrest of Hassan Trazie, 19, of Newark, for an aggravated assault and weapon possession today (Friday).
According to police, at approximately 3 a.m., officers patrolling the area of 4th and Summer Avenues were flagged down by a group of individuals who stated that a man had pointed a gun at a 33-year old female victim following a quarrel.
Officers observed the man walking with a weapon in his hand authorities said.
Officers arrested Trazie and the weapon he was carrying, a loaded Winchester air rifle, was recovered.
Police are charging Hassan Trazie with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
