Acting Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced the arrest of Kasim Chandler who was wanted in connection to a robbery late last year.
This morning, Fugitive Apprehension Team detectives arrested 21-year-old Chandler at a home in the 800 block of South 19th Street without incident. He is being held for a robbery that occurred on December 28, 2015 on Scheerer Avenue between Bergen Street and Osborne Terrace. He has no bail at this time.
Chandler is charged with the unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, conspiracy and robbery. He is also being held on two outstanding bench warrants.
Although Chandler is in custody, the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
