Police and city officials in Newark announced that the Newark Police Division will have an increased number of officers on duty during the upcoming July 4th holiday.
According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, along with more officers on patrol, NPD will also conduct special fireworks enforcement and DWI checkpoints in various locations around the city of Newark.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about suspicious or criminal activity to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867).
All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
