Authorities in Newark reported the arrest of 19 individuals arrested for violent crimes in September 2024.
“I commend members of the Newark Police Division, namely the Major Crimes/Fugitive Apprehension Team, Shooting Response Team, Robbery Unit, and Special Victims Unit, for producing these outstanding results,” Director Fragé said.
“I also thank the U.S. Marshall Service and University Hospital Medical Services for their support during this important crime reduction initiative,” he added.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said the 19 individuals are:
- Lester McCoy, 21, of Newark, was arrested on September 10, 2024. He was wanted for unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon (large capacity magazine), and possession of CDS.
- Angela Rivera, 24, of Newark, was arrested on September 6, 2024. Rivera was wanted on charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of other weapons.
- Mary Cheeseboro, 55, of East Orange, was arrested on September 6, 2024. She faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, theft, and conspiracy.
- Shawanta Cheeseboro, 32, of East Orange, arrested on September 6, 2024, was wanted for aggravated assault, theft, and conspiracy.
- Rafael Valerio, 21, of East Orange, was arrested on September 10, 2024. Valerio was wanted for an outstanding warrant in Newark.
- Rmani Rogers, 26, was arrested on September 6, 2024. She was wanted for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of other weapons.
- Garrison Rodriguez, 29, of New Brunswick, was arrested on September 9, 2024. He was wanted on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy.
- Kleider Orellano-Mena, 22, of Newark, was arrested on September 9, 2024. He was wanted for aggravated assault and simple assault.
- Shadee Glover, 23, of East Orange, was arrested on September 9, 2024. This suspect was wanted for aggravated assault, simple assault, and criminal mischief.
- Wren Harris, 28, of Newark, was arrested on September 9, 2024. She was wanted for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of other weapons.
- Christian Hill, 28, of Newark, was arrested on September 11, 2024. He was wanted for an aggravated assault.
- Andre Thompson, 53, of Newark, was arrested on September 11, 2024. A warrant had been issued for his arrest on charges of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
- Samaj Barrett, 24, of Newark, was arrested on September 11, 2024. He was wanted on charges of CDS possession, CDS distribution, CDS distribution within 1,000 ft. of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Emmanuel Sanchez-Rios, 28, of Newark, was arrested on September 11, 2024. He was being sought on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and simple assault.
- Kawan McGill, 25, of Newark, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
- Tiheshea Parker, 50, was arrested on September 11, 2024. She was wanted for an outstanding warrant.
- Tamir Blake, 23, of Orange, was arrested on September 9, 2024, on an outstanding warrant.
- Rasheedah McKinnon, 45, was arrested on September 6, 2024. She had been wanted for an outstanding warrant in Newark.
- Alneisha Armstrong, 44, was arrested on September 6, 2024. She was being sought on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and an outstanding warrant from Paramus.
These charges are merely accusations. Officials state that each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
