Newark Pair Arrested for Shoplifting Clothing from Bloomfield Store

Bloomfield Police apprehended two Newark residents on December 3 following a shoplifting incident at the Stop & Shop on Franklin Street.   Ad

Officers responded to the store after receiving a report of suspected shoplifting.

According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a woman was observed concealing men’s clothing in a bag and handing it off to a man waiting outside the store.  

The suspects were identified as Ms. Amanda Soto, 34, and Mr. Shawn Holland, 53, both of Newark.

When confronted by the Loss Prevention Officer, police were contacted. Officers arrived promptly and placed both suspects under arrest without incident.  

The suspects were transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
