Authorities in Newark are investigating a stabbing incident that left a person seriously injured in the city's North Ward Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, a Newark Police Crime Scene unit was called to the Krauzer's Parking lot to investigate reports of blood found in a vehicle used to drop a victim off at Clara Maass Hospital who suffered a serious stab wound at around 9:40 p.m.
Police learned that the victim was stabbed in the 60's block of Highland Avenue and was brought to the hospital in the private vehicle.
Clara Maass hospital offcials treated the victim then trasfeeered the patient to University Hospital for further treatement.
The motive for the stabbing has not been released by police at this time.
