Newark, North Jersey Region Wake Up to Slightly Warmer but Still Chilly Morning

After a frigid Monday morning, Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to slightly milder temperatures on this Tuesday, March 4. While it's still cold, a gradual warm-up is expected throughout the day, giving residents a preview of spring-like conditions.

Early risers stepping outside at 5 a.m. are still facing brisk temperatures, with Sussex County at 26 degrees, Morristown at 29, Paterson at 32, and Edison at 30. 

However, according to the National Weather Service, temperatures will climb into the low 50s by the afternoon.

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Light south wind becoming southwest at 6 to 11 mph in the morning.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 42. South wind at 5 to 8 mph.

Wednesday: A chance of showers in the morning, followed by steady rain in the afternoon. High near 57.

While the rising temperatures are a welcome change, they come at the cost of some drenching midweek rain.
