Residents can expect a warm and somewhat humid morning as the sun rises over the Newark and North Jersey region.
According to The National Weather Service, the latest weather data indicates a fair amount of humidity, making it a bit sticky outside. However, the conditions are generally favorable, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms later in the day.
NWS forecasters say the temperature is expected to climb to a high near 93 degrees Fahrenheit, and when combined with the humidity, it may feel as hot as 96 degrees due to the heat index values.
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecasted after 3 pm. NWS forecasters say Some of these storms have the potential to produce small hail and gusty winds.
The south wind will be blowing at 5 to 14 mph, providing a slight breeze to help alleviate the heat. However, staying hydrated and taking necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses is still crucial.
NWS forecasters say the weather is expected to remain partly sunny as the day progresses.
