In a welcome change from the persistent winter chill, Newark is waking up to an unexpected 37 degrees this morning – the warmest it has been above freezing in quite some time. My family and friends across the North Jersey region are experiencing a brief taste of early spring, with forecasts indicating that temperatures will quickly climb into the 50s later in the day.
As the morning develops, partly cloudy skies will gradually give way to abundant sunshine, lifting spirits as the temperature rises to a high near 51 degrees.
According to The National Weather Service, light, variable winds are expected to shift to a gentle south breeze at 5 to 10 mph by mid-morning, adding a pleasant, refreshing feel to the day.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy, with temperatures dipping to a low of around 36 degrees. Though the current break in the cold offers a hopeful preview of spring, residents are advised to enjoy the day's warmth while it lasts.
Have a great day, New Jersey, and may your work week start off on a positive note!
