Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today the arrest of Ezequiel Orellana, 40, of Newark and Juan Nunez, 25, of North Hollywood, California, for an incident of illegal dumping.
According to authorities, at approximately 11 a.m., Nunez and Orellana were observed throwing debris from their vehicle onto the sidewalk at Highland Avenue and Manchester Place. Members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force were notified and responded.
Police arrested both men and charged them with Illegal Dumping and Illegal Transport of Solid Waste.
Officials say the vehicle used to transport the dumped materials was towed and is subject to seizure by forfeiture.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
