Authorities announced the arrest of a 25-year-old Newark man accused of firing several shots at another man during an altercation in the city on June 12th.
According to Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, James Britt was arrested Thursday morning in Irvington by the city police division's fugitive unit and U.S. Marshals.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a handgun and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Britt was ordered held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
On the day of the incident, the unhurt victim told police that following an argument, Britt fired several shots at him on the 200 block of Hunterdon Street.
