Newark Man Wanted for Robbery, Aggravated Assault

Newark Police seek the public’s help in locating Deandre Parker, 28, of Newark, who they say is wanted in connection with a robbery and firing a shot at the victim and his girlfriend.

According to police, on May 23, a then unidentified suspect robbed a 21-year-old Newark man of cash near the intersection of South 19th Street and Avon Avenue.

Police said several hours later while driving with his girlfriend, the victim observed the suspect in a car and began to follow him.

Realizing that he was being followed, the suspect fired a gun at the victim’s car before driving away police said.

Neither the victim nor his girlfriend was injured.

Detectives have developed evidence that Deandre Parker is a suspect in the two incidents authorities said.

Police issued a warrant for Parker's arrest for Robbery, two counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Handgun and Possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes.

Police said Parker is approximately 5’11, 220 lbs, with several tattoos including, 973, WASP, THUG LIFE and D Block.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from city streets.

This investigation is continuing.
