Newark Man Wanted for Questioning in Armed Robbery Investigation

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in locating Jamill Davis, 30, of Newark, who is wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, January 15.AdNewark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. said that at approximately 5 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of 18th Avenue on a call of an armed robbery.

According to Newark officials,  a victim arranged to purchase a gaming system from a male contacted on Facebook Marketplace.

The suspect approached the victim but suddenly turned around, stating that he had forgotten a part of the gaming system, Newark authorities stated.

Newark officials say he then phoned the suspect to meet with him inside a building in the area.

The victim began walking toward him but decided against it before being tapped on the shoulder by what is believed to be a firearm and was ordered to hand over everything, which included the cash to be used to purchase the system, $290.00, according to Newark officials.

Detectives investigating this incident seek Jamill Davis for questioning, officials stated.
