Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Daryl Scott, 27, of Newark, who they say is wanted for an incident of aggravated assault that occurred on February 3rd.
According to authorities, officers responded to Dayton Street near Meeker Avenue on a call of an assault.
Officials said when officers arrived, they learned that between 1 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., male suspects strangled a woman is an apparent domestic incident.
Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to secure a warrant for the arrest of Daryl Scott in connection with this incident according to authorities.
Authorities described Scott as 5’9” tall, 185 lbs., light complexion, black hair and brown eyes. Scott also has a tattoo on his neck featuring the picture of a rose according to police.
Officials charged Scott with Aggravated Assault (strangulation), Criminal Restraint, Terroristic Threats and Simple Assault under the State’s Domestic Violence Laws.
While police are actively searching for Scott, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from the streets.
