Newark Man Pleads Not Guilty to Fatally Shooting 21-Year-Old Man

Newark New Jersey

A 30-year-old Newark man plead not guilty Tuesday morning to the shooting that killed a man from Newark in 2014.

Wali Williams, 30, and two co-defendants appeared before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler for the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Newark resident Anthony Flowers back in March 2014.

Williams allegedly shot Flowers after an altercation over an ID on 300 block of Avon Avenue around 8:30 p.m. last March.

Williams and his co-defendants - Laquan Dwight, 29, of Irvington, and Dennis Russell, 35, of Newark - all plead not guilty.

The men remain in custody at the Essex County Correctional Facility until they post bail.
