A 27-year-old Newark man pleaded guilty earlier this month in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a Jersey City woman, according to court records.
On June 3rd, Omar Martin pleaded guilty to murder for the fatal shooting of Regina Baker, 29, on June 19, 2012.
Martin is the second suspect of four suspects to plead guilty. On October 2014, Karon Adams, 28, of Irvington, who pleaded guilty however his sentencing has been repeatedly postponed.
The two other defendants, Damon Zengotita, 40, of Hillside, and Michelle Paden, 41, of Newark, are awaiting trial.
According to reports, days before Regina Baker's body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a vacant Newark townhouse, she was reportedly abducted at gunpoint by several suspects in Jersey City.
No details have been released as to why Baker was kidnapped or a motive for her killing.
