A Newark man charged with sexually assaulting a woman in Harrison while holding a fake gun to her head, made his first court appearance via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.
Ramon L. Torres, 49, was also charged with aggravated sexual assault, attempted aggravated sexual assault, and making terroristic threats, as well as weapons offense related to the fake handgun.
Torres' bail will be set by a superior court judge in the presence of an attorney from the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit present.
On Monday, October 12, Ramon L. Torres, 49, threatened to shoot the unidentified victim in the head if the victim did not perform oral sex on Torres, officials said.
