Morris County officials announce the filing of additional charges against Nathaniel G. Yanez, 22, of Newark. Yanez has been charged with Explicit Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
According to officials, these charges result from law enforcement’s continued investigation of the defendant after members of the Dover Township Police Department initially charged him with Aggravated Explicit Assault and Criminal Explicit Contact.
County officials said that it is alleged that on May 30, 2021, the defendant explicitly assaulted a 15-year-old victim at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway.
According to officials, the following day, it is alleged that the defendant then explicitly assaulted a 17-year-old victim in the same location.
Members of the Rockaway Township Police Department charged the defendant for these additional acts on May 5, 2022.
The defendant continues to be detained at the Morris County Correctional Facility following his arrest on the initial charges. Yanez is scheduled to appear in court on July 11, 2022.
