A Newark resident has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies at commercial establishments in Bloomfield Township According to the Bloomfield Police Department, Jerome Brown, 58, was taken into custody on October 9th on warrants stemming from armed robbery investigations at two stores along Bloomfield Avenue.
The first incident occurred on September 13, 2024, at Sally's Beauty Supply, located at 131 Bloomfield Avenue.
Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of a robbery in progress.
Bloomfield Police official said a store employee told officers that the suspect, later identified as Brown, approached the register with his hand in his back pocket, demanding money while warning,
"Do not say anything, and give me the money."
The employee stepped away from the register, and the suspect fled with approximately $400 from two cash registers.
According to Bloomfield Police the second robbery took place on October 5, 2024, at Dollar Tree, located at 135 Bloomfield Avenue.Although details of that incident have not been fully disclosed, no physical injuries were reported in either robbery.
Jerome Brown now faces charges related to both robberies as the investigations continue.
