Authorities announced the arrest of James Bell, 25, of Newark, for a shooting that occurred on October 27, 2017.
According to police, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to Norwood Street, near Abinger Place, in response to a Shots Spotter notification.
Upon arrival, officers learned a man fired a handgun at a woman following a dispute.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this shooting.
Authorities ensued an investigation which ultimately developed evidence that identified James Bell as a suspect in this shooting and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Detectives arrested and charged Bell yesterday with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
