Police in Newark are reporting that members of their Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Hector Velez-Perez, 36, of Newark, on Monday for the burglary of an auto accessories business on Oct. 24, 2016.
Police responded to Hytech Performance, located at 77 Broadway, on a burglary call sometime around 12 a.m. The suspect gained entry into the business lot by cutting and removing the locks on its gates. A 2001 Chevy Astro van show vehicle was stolen along with stereo and computer equipment and other electronics.
As part of their investigation, detectives have determined that Hector Velez-Perez is a suspect in this burglary. A warrant for Velez-Perez’s arrest was issued, and detectives took him into custody without incident.
Hector Velez-Perez was charged with burglary and conspiracy.
