A 55-year-old Newark man was taken into custody after he reportedly entered an Old Bridge Catholic school and stole an envelop from a teacher’s purse.
According to police, on December 4th at approximately 10:45 a.m., Quentin C. Hunt was let in to St. Thomas the Apostle, located on Route 18, by an employee and
walked into an unoccupied classroom and stole and envelope from a teacher's bag. The envelope did not contain money, it only had miscellaneous, non-personal items.
In addition, police emphasized that Hunt at no point came in contact with any students. The school principal praised teachers’ quick response to the shelter in place.
Police ultimately arrested Hunt Tuesday afternoon in Elizabeth.
According to police in Old Bridge, Hunt has been charged with burglary and theft.
