Newark Man Accused of Slashing Another Man’s Face, Arm, Sought

Authorities in Newark are asking for the public’s help in locating Herbert Keys, 56, of Newark, who is wanted for an incident of aggravated assault that occurred on Apr. 5th.

According to officials, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the victim was cut in the  face and arm. Police said the victim was taken to University Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to identify Keys as a suspect in this incident; they obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

While police are actively searching for Keys, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from the streets.
