Authorities announced the arrest of a 24-year-old Newark man wanted for an aggravated assault that occurred on Jan. 9th.
According to police, officers responded to the area of 1st Street and 7th Avenue sometime around 6 p.m. on a report of a person with a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect - later identified as Faquir H. Parrish - reportedly pointed a handgun at four individuals inside the residential building.
An arrest warrant was issued for Parrish, and he was taken into custody Wednesday without incident.
Police said Parrish has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges lodged against Parrish are mere allegations.
He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
