Newark Ironbound Stabbing Spree Leaves Five Injured

Police in Newark have arrested a male suspect following a stabbing incident that left nearly half a dozen people injured in the city’s Ironbound section this evening.

PuertoAccording to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, police responded to a call at approximately 5:27 p.m. today, Sunday, reporting multiple stabbings on the 100 block of Prospect Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered five adult males who had sustained stab wounds.

The victims were promptly transported to University Hospital, where they are all reported to be in stable condition.

Among the injured, at least one man was stabbed in the head, while another suffered stab wounds to the chest.

The suspect, an adult male, has been taken into custody. He was covered in blood.

The incident is currently under investigation.
