Police in Newark took a gunshot victim into custody after he entered a medical center suffering a bullet wound but was also carrying a gun late Monday night.
Officials at University Hospital notified police when a gunshot victim entered the emergency room before 11:30 p.m.
Officers investigating the incident reportedly found a weapon on the victim and arrested the individual.
Police are trying the ascertain the location of the shooting and have placed the incident under active investigation.
The suspect's injuries have not been rpeorted as life-threatening.
