Newark Firefighters extinguished a fast-moving fire that ignited inside a house in Newark's South Ward on Thursday.
According to reports, firefighters were called to 55 Sherman Avenue after they received reports of a fire inside a house with possible trapped occupants at around 11:10 p.m.
Crews arrived to find flames coming from the roof of a three-story wood-framed house.
Firefighters stretched several lines to knock down the blaze shortly before 11:30 p.m., according to reports.
Officials say two victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by The Newark Arson Squad.
