Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a fire at 581 Bergen Street in Newark.
Four residents of the building, a male and female, both 29, and two children, girls ages 9 and 4 years old, were injured.
They are being treated at St. Barnabas Medical Center.
The mother and girls are in critical condition.
Two firefighters are being treated for non life threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
