Newark residents woke up to a welcome reprieve this morning, with temperatures at a comfortable 45 degrees.
However, this mild start appears to be short-lived as winter weather is poised to return later this week.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 51 degrees.
West winds will range from 8 to 14 mph, with gusts reaching up to 26 mph, ensuring that the brisk air keeps it feeling cooler than the thermometer suggests.
Tonight, the skies will turn mostly cloudy, and temperatures are expected to drop to around 40 degrees, with a southwest wind at 6 to 10 mph.
While Friday looks promising with temperatures approaching 50 degrees, a notable warming trend is forecast for Saturday, with highs near 56.
Despite Saturday’s temporary warmth, forecasters warn that the weekend will see a dramatic drop in temperatures as winter reasserts itself over the region.
Residents are advised to stay tuned to weather updates and dress accordingly as conditions change.

Enjoy the pleasant weather today, New Jersey – but be prepared, as winter is coming back sooner than you might expect.
