The Newark Emergency responder contingency joined forces to rescue a person who attempted an early morning jump from a building in the city's ironbound section.
At approximately 4:47 a.m., police were dispatched to an address in the 80's block of McWhorter Street to investigate reports of an emergency distressed person.
Upon arrival, police notified University Hospital Rescue, EMS and Newark firefighters after they found the person on the roof threatening to jump.
The individual was swiftly secured and powered from the roof without further incident.
EMS transported the person to an area hospital for an evaluation, but no serious injuries were reported.
