Newark, East Orange Residents Injured in Jersey City Moped Hit-and-Run Incident

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released details regarding a hit-and-run incident that seriously injured two individuals early on Saturday, June 29. NinosThe Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are currently investigating the collision.

According to Prosecutor Valdes, at approximately 12:20 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a collision in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Wilkinson Avenue.

Responding officers found two victims, a 36-year-old male from East Orange and a 26-year-old female from Newark, with serious injuries.

The victims were on a moped when the collision occurred, and the second vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.

Both victims were transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.

During the preliminary investigation, the second vehicle was identified and has since been recovered.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating the incident.
