Police in Newark are investigating an armed robbery of a business that happened on Sunday afternoon in the downtown district.
Cops were called to the business that's located in the 60's block of Branford Place shortly before 2 p.m.
According to initial reports from the scene, a black male suspect who was about 5'11" tall with dreads and wearing a white t-shirt and blue hat, entered the establishment and announced a holdup at knifepoint.
The suspect reportedly stole cash from the register and personal possessions before running from the location.
Police setup a crime scene around the store where they conducted an investigation.
The were no physical injuries reported.
