A member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for his role in a racketeering conspiracy and the distribution of cocaine, according to a statement released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Kareem Green, also known as “Try Me,” 32, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton to charges related to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and a separate charge of cocaine distribution.
On February 5, 2025, Judge Wigenton handed down the sentence in Newark federal court.
Court documents and statements presented in court detailed Green’s involvement with the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips from 2015 to September 22, 2022.
The gang was responsible for violent crimes and drug trafficking in New Jersey and beyond. Prosecutors outlined Green’s participation in two shootings—one on April 5, 2021, and another on April 11, 2021—alongside other gang members.
Additionally, on March 5, 2021, Green was involved in the distribution of cocaine with another gang associate.
Along with his 144-month prison sentence, Green was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.
The case highlights federal efforts to dismantle violent street gangs operating in New Jersey and across the country.
