According to University Hospital officials, today, University Hospital will offer health screenings, free mammograms and more for uninsured women in the Greater Newark Community. Breakfast will be provided and attendees can enter raffles for free prizes.
Official say in attendance will be The Honorable Central Ward Council Member LaMonica McIver and University Hospital Board Chair Tanya Freeman.
“I am glad to attend and participate in this critically important community event that University Hospital has put together,” said Councilwoman Lamonica McIver. “I cannot stress enough how beneficial it is for women to have access to free health screenings and mammograms, especially given the high rates of breast cancer in minority communities.”
“At University Hospital, we are dedicated to continuously providing the Newark community with access to free health events such as these as part of our broader mission to improve health outcomes in the city,” said Tanya Freeman, University Hospital Board Chair.
“Reducing barriers to consistent health check-ups will help identify medical issues early and ensure that our medical staff can step in to address any issues quickly and properly. I hope everyone that can is able to participate in this event.”
The health screenings are for uninsured women in the Greater Newark Community. It is sponsored by Newark Central Ward Council Member LaMonica McIver and University Hospital Board Chair Tanya Freeman, according to hospital officials.
Officials say it will begin at 8 AM and end at 4 PM 205 South Orange Avenue – C Level in Newark.
