Newark City Officials: 'Street Naming to Honor Great Community Servant'

On Saturday, May 19th at 1 p.m., the Mayor and city officials will honor the late Daryl D. Bethea with a Central Ward street dedication and renaming.

According to the family of Bethea, he was born and raised in Newark leaving his legacy as a long time veteran employee of Perry's Funeral Home where he was known, loved and embraced by thousands of families around Newark and the Essex County region.

Daryl served community families during their most difficult times with his unique professional style of providing excellent funeral arrangements and service according to his family.

He was loved by all who he came in contact family members said.

The family is inviting all to join them at the intersection of Lincoln and Court streets to celebrate the life of this great man.
