Police in Newark are looking into a carjacking reported in a section of the city Friday morning.
The owner reported the incident on the border of Newark's Central and South wards around 12:36 a.m.
Police responded to the intersection of Quitman Street and Clinton Avenue, where they found the victim near the Riviera Hotel.
Officers were told that an armed suspect took the victim's black 2017 Kia Optima then sped away from the scene. The car has a reported Pennsylvania license plate number "LHN-5228".
Police reported no physical injuries and the investigation is active.
