A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Evi Ruiz, 30, of Newark, on a charge of burglary in an incident that occurred on March 28th.
According to authorities, officers responded to a residence on the 500 block of South 17th Street for a report of a burglary.
Officials say a contractor re-building a home left a compressor locked inside the apartment around 6:30 p.m. but when he returned the next day, the machine was stolen along with a hand saw, electric saw, two drills and other tools.
Detectives investigating this incident have identified Evi Ruiz as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest.
Police describe Ruiz as 5’5” tall, 130 lbs., has light complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He also has tattoos on his face and neck.
While police are actively searching for Ruiz, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from the streets.
