Congratulations to Coach Nasir Gains and the Brick City Lions Pop Warner Football Team for their national championship win down in Orlando Florida on Saturday morning.
In the 63rd Annual Pop Warner Championship, the Brick City Lions D1-JV team defeated the Far West Jets of Arizona by a score of 34-24 in front of a sold-out stadium.
Pop Warner officials say more than 100 games take place throughout the 7-day event in December, including the Division I Jr. Varsity National Championship game which will be featured LIVE on ESPNU (Saturday, December 14 at 10 a.m.) and throughout the NFL Super Bowl week.
Throughout the week, several games are also aired live on ESPN3/WatchESPN and streamed live on the Pop Warner YouTube page.
The Brick City Lions U14 team played strong competition against Valdosta Georgia’s Titletown Titans but came up a little short of victory in the 14-8 lost.
The Pop Warner Super Bowl week also includes several International Division games, featuring teams from all over the world competing at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
