A trio wanted in connection with three robberies in Bloomfield and Belleville on Dec. 23rd were taken into custody, according to authorities.
Today police announced that Lee Jones, 23, of Newark, Isaiah Hayes, 21, of Newark, and Worthy Shannon, 18, of Bloomfield, have all been charged with robbery, receiving stolen property, conspiracy and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
According to police, on Dec. 23rd at approximately 6 p.m., Jones, Hayes and Shannon allegedly exited a small car and robbed a Bloomfield woman of money and identification at the intersection of Lexington and Florence Avenues. The victim in this incident suffered minor injuries, police added.
On the same day, Belleville police responded to a report of a robbery on Harrison Street involving similar suspects and the same car.
A third incident occurred sometime around 5 p.m. on Willard Avenue, this time the victim - a Bloomfield man - was allegedly robbed of his money and cell phone.
The trio was ultimately pulled over on Watsessing Avenue by police. Inside the vehicle, police recovered the missing items.
Jones and Shannon are being held on $75,000 bail with no 10 percent option. Hayes is being held on $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
